Whale Watching in the San Juans

oh goodness, Its been a while since I've updated. This seems to happen alot. Booo me! This time it wasnt completly my fault. I tried to update but my computer just wasnt having it, so I've had this saved as a draft
Well I'll just get into it then.

Last month I went home because Douglas got us tickets to see The Black Keys, who happen to be the best band to see live. I still cant get over how amazing the show was.

The day before, we went whale watching.
First we took a sea plane to Friday Harbor.

It was my first time for both, as well as whale watching. Then we got on our tour guides boat and headed out through the San Juan Islands.

Yup, theres a bald eagle hanging out with some crazy sea lions

Our captain decided to take up allllll the way up north to Vancouver, BC, which is where I live anyways. First thing I noticed was how disgustingly polluted it is over BC, and the ocean water was even brown. The kickup from the boat made the water look like Coca Cola Slushee. Yuck.

Finally we saw the Orcas! Maybe 6 or 7 of them. They were jumping and waving.

I have more whale photos but internet has been iffy.

Our sea plane ride home was exciting. We were leaving during sunset and went past Victoria, BC and also...we got to ride in the Evening Magazing plane!!!

We also went up to the Space Needle. I've lived in WA for 23 years and never went to the top of the needle.

Then of course, I had to come back home and go straight to school the same day :(

Well, thats it for today, I've been busy working on my final for my Special Effects class.
I'll post some photos from school soon!

-Cheers!

Product Review: Kat Von D's "Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick" and Urban Decay "24/7 Waterproof Liquid Liner

Dont worry, random readers, Not all posts are going to be girly product reviews. I just get excited when I buy new makeup, especially being a makeup student.

When I first saw Kat Von D's new liquid lipstick, I wasnt so sure about it. It looks like it would make your lips super dry and chappy, but thats not really the case.
This lipstick is like paint, and It will last a long time. You only need one swipe of the product and you will get full coverage.
 (yay me!)
So, you can see its pretty opaque, which I like alot.
One issue I have with this product is that there isnt a large range of colors. ( there are only 6)
The second issue is that it seems to rub off easier than regular lipstick near the inner part of your lips. You may be able to tell a bit from my picture, so you could use a lipliner to fill in that part that tends to be more moist and it should stay there more likley than the lipstick.
You can also still layer a lip gloss over it if you want the glossy look, otherwise it's completly matte.
 (Color: Outlaw)

Urban Decay 24/7 waterproof liquid eyeliner Is amazing. Its their second line of eyeliners in their 24/7 collection, both of which are amazing.

 (Color: Retrograde)

One of the nice things about this eyeline is that you can make a variety of sizes of lines.

The photo above looks really shiny because of the flash. There is a bit of sparkle in this eyeliner.
The color I have here is purple with purple-pink sparkle. Dont worry about the sparkle if you arent into it, its very subtle. Also, this eyeliner peels or flakes, but only when you start to rub at it, so taking it off is very easy and requires no makeup remover.
The tip of the brush is very fine and pointed, which helps a lot to achieve the winged eyeliner.
In the photo at the very top, I am also wearing this liner in a subtle wing shape.

Product Review: Comforter Bubble Bar, Dream Cream Body Lotion, and Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

Thats right, I'm doing a product review not only for you few that, hopefully, read this, but for myself as well, so I dont end up re-buying items that i didnt like.

BTW alot, if not all, of Lush cosmetics products are Vegan, made with natural products and made right here in beautiful Vancouver, BC.

OK! so The Comforter Bubble Bar from Lush Cosmetics ( http://www.lush.ca/shop/products/bath-shower/bubble-bars/the-comforter- ) is quite a good size. It's about 3 1/2x 3 1/2 inches big, (200 g) and you can get about 4 bath sessions with it, depending on how big your tub is.

"Blackcurrant absolute is extracted by solvent extraction from the buds of the blackcurrant bush. The fragrance is comforting and relaxing."-Lush cosmetics. Its true, the fragrance is definetly comforting and relaxing, but once you open the bag, the smell attacks your face and disturbs the nostrils for a quick second, but once you get into the bath, the smell becomes subtle.
Also, your bath water becomes purple. At first I thought it was just my hair color leaking again (yup, i have purple hair) But I was wrong, thankfully. The Comforter Bubble Bar also has Cypress oil in it. Apparently it is an astringent, deodorant, toning and antiseptic oil.

While some people say this product hydrates their skin, which it does a bit, but my skin still feels dry, so after every shower/bath I like to use the Dream Cream Body Lotion.

(http://www.lush.ca/shop/products/body/hand-and-body-creams/dream-cream) Literally, its a dream. Ive used tons of different kinds of body lotion and moisturizer, but the Dream Cream is the only one that I believe actually works. My skin instantly feels moisturized. Not only that but it contains Chamomile and lavender which helps calm irritations, reduce redness and banish blotches. I burnt my ear while using my curling iron and put a dab of this Dream Cream on it and instantly the burning sensation went away.

Where the Dream Cream Body Lotion may, in fact, be a dream, its better to move on to another product for your heals and elbows. Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter.

Oh, how I love this product. Its a product that can do what no lotion can do, and thats hydrate and soften the rough skin on your heels and elbows, as well as repair and strengthen the skin. http://www.lush.ca/shop/products/body/hand-and-body-creams/lemony-flutter . This cuticle butter is a bit greasy, but only if you use too much. Gently rub your fingers on it, a little goes a loooooong way, and its better to start off with not enough rather than too much. Lemony Flutter contains mango butter, organic avocado oil, twenty-two pounds of beeswax (!!!) and lemons, which is good for brightening the skin. Also, this product looks great on tattoos. Its revives the brightness but once again, dont use too much!

http://www.lush.ca/shop/ is such a good brand, some items are a bit pricey, but they do last quite a while. I have even gotten my fiance (thats right, hes my fiance now lol) into these products. So men shouldnt be shy to use them, there are quite a few items just for men!.

Cheers for now!

Booooo!!!

I've been neglecting my blog! But are there even people who read it? Probably not, but last entry was emo, no more of that! I've gotten back into my groove in Canada.
Well, Douglas wasnt able to make it up here to visit or to go to the Canucks/Blackhawks game due to evil weather and storms. But I was able to sell my tickets and get a free giant Canucks flag from the same person.
A friend from high school is in town and I got to meet up with her for dinner last night. Its been 6 years since I've last seen her, but it wasnt awkward at all. It was good times.
School is still fun, and still stressful due to the years it will take to get a good job. The past two weeks we have been doing decade looks and this coming week we are going to have to work on models and do a photoshoot.
Myself and a few girls from class decided to start putting ads out there for us to do makeup for proms and weddings, so if your from BC, come to meeeeee!!! I do hair too lol. AND!...Douglas made me buisness cards, which I've very excited for.
Speaking of Douglas, his blog has been doing really well ( Exotic Hikes )
Ok, I'm done for now, I'll be back!

Cheers

Holy Hecksters!

I've been slacking, and its not because ive been busy. Well this will be a small update since I still havent uploaded photos from my christmas vacation. Theres been snow here a bit, but my boyfriend has gotten tons of snow in WA. Well over 2 feet of snow, I believe, as well as freezing rain and mass power outages. My mom only lives about 30 minutes away and hasnt lost power at all but also has tons of snow. Hopefully Roads will be fine by this weekend. Douglas and I have plans for him to come visit me in Canada and go to a Canucks game!
Go Canucks
and Go away snow and ice!

Sunday, 1 January 2012

Well...

This winter vacation has been eventful. I still have one week left to be home then I have to go back to Canada and get back into school. Its going to be hard. Being home has definetly helped me realize the type of place I want to live and Its helped me think about my future more and how I'm going to juggle it all.
A few days ago, Douglas and I went up to Mt. Rainier, and ooooooh boy it was super snowy and icey, but only really near the top, otherwise it was just rainy. One thing I didnt realize, was how much it snowed. Take one step and next thing you know, your entire leg is in a hole. Well, it was really me. Douglas, lucky butthead, has some kind of sixth sense when it comes to walking in snow.

No I wasnt snowing, The snow wall in the parking lot was just that high

This photo is a whole other story. My dear BF decided that I just HAD to see this waterfall. Well, the trail was icey and snowey and steep. Took a long time getting down to the view point. I also thought he was going to have to cut off my leg because I was, once again, stuck in a hole of ice at a weird angle. Honestly, I was more concered about losing my shoe in the hole and having to walk back with one boot.
                                                                My snow throne
My creepy/ damn snow in my eye, face

He said he didnt push me, but I can say that I didnt pose like that on purpose
